Concept Explanation

Multiplication By 0 or 1

Multiplying By 1:

Any number multiplied by 1 is the number itself.

For example if we a plate having an apple and we have 5 such plates, then we have 5 apples

1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 =  5 X 1 = 5.

Similarly

1 + 1 + 1 + 1  =  4 X 1 = 4.

Multiplying By 0:

Any number multiplied by 0 is 0.

For example if we a plate having no apple and we have 5 such plates, then we have 0 apples

0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 =  5 X 0 = 0.

Similarly

0 + 0 + 0 + 0  =  4 X 0 = 0.
